Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Have you ever stared at a blank box labeled "about me"? Umm what about me?  I want to put it all out there. Full disclosure. But where to start?

My name is Erin. I am married to my soulmate. His name is Doug. It is possible my family pays him to keep me. He loves me in spite of my "great ideas" And they have been many. And I few even worked out! If you pray consider adding him to your list. I mom as hard as I can and once in a while I rock it. I normally take pictures of those moments because they really don't happen that often. I have one biological daughter, Mya,  who is (as I am writing this) 12 years old. But she will have you to know she is very close to 13 and therefore a full blown teenage. (Please help me Dear  Precious Lord!!) I also have 2 step children who I love like my own flesh and blood. It helps that I became bonus mom to them when they were young and sweet. The oldest of the 2  is Avery. She is 12. (did you notice that Mya is also 12? Are you reading that I am the proud parent of TWO 12 year old girls? I could horrify you with those stories all day.) Avery is best described as a free spirit. (read she doesn't always listen) And the baby of the family is Nathan. He is 11. He is so sweet. But he stinks. And he sometimes brings me dead flat frogs off the road. For some reason this is very funny to him. I'll never understand. (shaking my head) These are the moments I identify with the #boymom crowd. Nathan also doesn't listen. But not is the same teenager-y way Avery doesn't listen. Nathan is in a world we have never been. I imagine it must be like Never Never Land. Nathan is so engrossed in this magical place he did not hear you ask if he has homework.  Yes I asked 6 times. No he didn't hear any of it.

I also play dog mom. I have 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks. They are beautiful. They are a handful! And then of course there are the chickens. Bosses of the back yard. Seriously. The white one even scares the dogs.

I also  have a job. Because those kids I told you about are expensive. They eat a lot more than one might think. So when I'm not momming I'm a paramedic. A life time of public service gives you quite the perspective on life. It's that career choice that lead me here to you. Something deep inside of me is crying for change. Something says "Raise your kids differently". There is a longing inside of me to live a simple life. To appreciate the world around me. To look for something different than the rat race. That searching has led me to essential oils, plant power, healthy food, earthing, yoga, meditation and travel. I found there is not one answer to balance. There is a million ways to find it. Just start looking! Here you can see life through the eyes of a paramedic, mom, and oiler. You can follow my journey through public service, public embarrassment, and the epic changes that landed me right here.
