Family Time is the Best Time

Best family activities as stated by the Krammer Kids

  1. Questival. (Activity put on by Cotopaxi) Never heard of it? That’s ok. I’m gonna tell you how it works. You sign your family up in the city of your choice. You show up feeling lost and uncertain because you received almost no information about this at all. It’s all very top secret. If you are like me you don’t appreciate this at all. 🙄 So you download an app that opens exactly at the time questival starts. The app has a to do list. As you do the activities you get points. You start at night and it goes all night and all day. (Backwards 24 for all the first responders reading this) You want to know what the activities are don’t you? Well. Only one way to find out. Sign up. Get the app and get ready to party. Just a little hint?? Ok. You get major points for camping and camping activities. Nathan ate a bug and a worm 🐛. I was willing to forgo those points. Doug shaved his head. Travis and Doug submerged themselves in freezing water. I was the camera man. I did a very good job. Excellent actually.

  2. The Alamo and Alamo movie. Maybe we have sensitive kids? Maybe the hubby and I did a fantastic job turning our forefathers into heroes? I’m not sure, but all 3 kids cried when Davy Crocket died in the movie. At the Alamo Nathan asked “what would have happened if Mexico had won the war?” I said “you would be a Mexican I guess”. He gave that some thought then said “I wouldn’t be a good Mexican. I can’t talk Mexican and my hair is blonde” 🤦🏼‍♀️ Good thing the Texans won. I would hate for Nathan to be the only blonde haired, English speaking Mexican.

  3. Road trips. The good times in the car are irreplaceable. This is where we had to hear about hermastats from Mya. That’s apparently the right word for a cows utter. And Avery professed her undying love and allegiance to Willie Nelson. Bored?? I’ve got something for that! All the kids learned their multiplication tables somewhere in the midwest. And they all learned the Gettysburg Address start to finish while crossing the Rocky Mountains. We’ve had endless trivia games and I spy until you just can’t anymore. And a family favorite is Krammer Karaoke. Do I have the only kids who will sing “Amazing Grace” and “I Turned 21 in Prison” back to back like its not even weird? We’ve talked about all the important things driving across these United States. How to forgive. How to keep choosing love. Remembering your family is your most treasured possession. How to get to heaven. When to walk away. Who to marry. The list is endless. Road trips come highly recommended.

Just spend time together while you can. One day they will be grown and gone. One day it will just be the hubby and me in the car and we will miss them. For a few minutes anyways.
